WASHINGTON – The Indian Affairs Office of Indian Economic Development is seeking applications for its new Living Languages Grant Program.
Grant funds enable federally recognized tribes to support programs that document Native languages or help create or expand language preservation programs.
The grant announcement coincided with a Dec. 3 visit to the Cherokee Nation by First Lady Jill Biden and U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, who were promoting the preservation of Native languages.
